Like many who work in the intercultural field, the first “name” I ever heard was Edward T. Hall.  In that introduction I first became aware of the distance I maintain around myself when I talk to someone else: my space bubble. But that was just the beginning for me. Through Edward Hall, I came to understand so much more about the experiences I had had as an exchange student and in meeting with people from other cultures and places.

Though I never met him, I am deeply touched by his passing, but I have been even more touched by his writing, his books, and his insights from his long and rich life.
